Ayurvedic Ganas Explained: A complete guide to Ashtanga Hridyam Sutrasthana ch. 15

Introduction Ayurvedic gana s is one of the most practical and powerful ways to understand how herbs work in real treatment. Instead of studying single herbs one by one, Ayurveda groups them into gana based on their action, dosha effect, and clinical use . This makes learning and applying Ayurveda much easier for students and practitioners. Each gana represents a clear therapeutic purpose—whether it is for pain relief, skin healing, detoxification, or strengthening—and helps us see how herbs work together as a team. In classical texts like Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Hridyam , the gana system acts as a bridge between theory and practice. By studying each gana , we understand not only which herbs are grouped together but also why they produce specific effects in the body. What Are Ayurvedic Gaṇas? A Functional Herb Classification System Ayurvedic Ganas are functional herb groups described in texts like Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Hridayam . Instead of classifyi...

Anuman praman- Padarth vigyan
